Physically, I really look like a coyote because I am smaller and more colorful than my grey wolves cousins. My hair has a tawny color, which earned me my name of red wolf.

Actually, my specie is so much threatened by men that, in the wild, it extincted in 1980. I have been reintroduced in 1987, and ever since, a small population strives to survive. Today, the genetic hybridization with the coyote is a big issue.
