Channel-billed toucan’s description

Like every toucan, I have an enormous beak ! I only live in primary forests, the ones where man never came ; In every places where he cut trees, even if he stopped several years before, I don’t feel at ease and flee.

Where does channel-billed toucan live ?

I live in the tropical forest in the north of South America, between Columbia, Venezuela, Guyana and the north of Brazil.

Which threats ?

I am very sensitive to changes in my habitat, and, unfortunately, there are many… In Brazil, my forest is now disrupted by roads or has been transformed to cultivate soy and breed livestock.

Kiwiwho’s word to save the channel-billed toucan

I am still relatively common, and thus, there does not exist any measure to preserve me. New protected zones should be created or, at least, studies should be funded on me, because man knows very little about my specie.
